This video was commissioned by the highly regarded, international artist Angus Watt who makes beautiful large scale, bespoke flag installations in the landscape. Emma’s job was to create a succinct film that represents his best work to go on the the slide deck on the first page of his new website, which has been designed and developed by planXdesign, (Miss Plunkett’s parent company). Angus has been collecting film and video footage of his art work for many years, which Emma used along side footage she shot herself. Emma decided upon a voice over narration, which she created from an interview she recorded with Angus. The interview draws out Angus’ artistic concerns, inspirations and anecdotes. This was then edited to flow over an original sound track, of what was called “flaggy music” by one of Angus’ friends Andy White.
The film was story boarded to show the many and various world class events and festivals, Angus has been successfully embellishing over the years and to portray a simple tale of how he creates his works of art. Emma filmed him at his home and at two of his art studios, one being an eco energy yurt and the other, where she have included a time lapse video of him in an atmospheric, four hundred year old mill, art space. Emma gave the shots of the flags space to breathe, whilst showing the vast range of flags Angus has produced over the years.
